There is a time for every purpose under Heaven

Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, "There is a time for everything, and a season for
every activity under heaven." The reality of this scripture has never been
greater to me than in the past year. There are so many things I want to
share with you so I guess the best place to start is at the beginning.

As I left the WWE last year about this time God began to open new doors of
opportunity for me to minster. Right away I was on my way to Canada to speak
for Promise Keeper\'s Canada. As a result of that meeting last October
Promise Keepers Canada has continued to call on me to join them in ministry
to the men of Canada. It has been amazing to see God work in the lives of so
many men. I have recently returned from the same PK event that I started
with last year in Regina, Saskatchewan and I\'m scheduled for three more PK
events in the first quarter of 2008. I also have co-hosted a Promise
Keeper\'s sponsored television show for men called "The Edge on Good News
Sports." This program is hosted by my good friend Glenn Allan and it speaks
to the issues men face in their daily lives. It seems God keeps opening
doors of ministry for me in Canada and that's fine with me as I have many
friends there.

Another highlight of the past year was being invited as a speaker to join a
number of very talented and prominent Christian speakers and entertainers on
"Cruise with a Cause." This cruise set sail from Florida and went to
Nassau in the Bahaman's where we spent an entire day ministering throughout
the community. We went to the streets, the schools, the prisons, and finally
a citywide outreach in the park. By days end the tally was over 4000
decisions for Christ! Now that\'s a great day! Joining me on this cruise
were my good friends, Nikita Koloff and Lex Lugar. And joining us were great
speakers like, Josh McDowell, Miles Monroe, Mark Chironna, and Ergun Canner.
Along with all of these were a number of great Christian bands including one
of my favorites, The Crabb Family.

Moving on from there God continued to open doors for me to speak to men. I
spent a week with my friend and minister, Johnny Moffitt, ministering in
three different prisons in the Dallas area. Once a member of the motorcycle
gang, "the banditos" Johnny has been in full time prison ministry for over
thirty years. It is amazing to see the Holy Spirit melt the hearts of some
of these hardened men. I spent another week in Texas with my friend and
minister John Williamson. Through John I was able to speak in many public
schools in the Dallas area, as well as minister in three area churches.
Again and again, I saw God touch hearts and change lives.

In the last two months I've ministered in three men's events. The first
was a two day men's outreach at Cornerstone Church in Highland Michigan,
the second a men's meeting at Grove Community Church in
Riverside
California
and finally a Promise Keepers event in Canada. As you can see,
God is definitely opening doors for me to minister to men. There is such a
great need for this at this time and in this season in our country. Strong
godly men build strong churches. Strong churches build strong communities,
and strong communities build a strong nation. One of the greatest problems
in America today is a lack of strong, godly men, who will do what God has
called every man to do, to lead their homes, their communities, and this
nation with character and integrity.

Most recently I’ve ministered in Homer Illinois. Now you might say, “Where is Homer Illinois?” Well, it’s in the heartland of our country. It’s also very near Champaign Illinois. I went to Homer on the invitation of a man of God who’s become a dear friend, Pastor C.W. Greer. Pastor Greer set up several church meetings as well as four school assemblies. In each case we saw God touch hearts, even where we couldn’t mention His name.

I've saved the greatest highlight of this year for last. In late August and
through the first week in September I joined my friends, Nikita Koloff and
Jason Sanderson, on a tour of the holy land. It was my second trip to Israel
and it was just as exciting as the first. It was a time of refreshing and
growing closer to the Lord. It was a time I dearly needed. There is nothing
like walking in the footsteps of Jesus. I recommend it to every Christian.
It will always take you to a greater level of intimacy with the Lord.

In the middle of all these wonderful things God has allowed me to be a part
of this year there has also been times of testing. There truly is a time and
season for everything. During this same year my wife and I have watched a
very dear friend go through the battle with cancer. As I write this letter
she is not expected to live. We have prayed and continue to pray for her
recovery with the realization that ultimately it\'s God\'s will that will be
done. We have watched in awe at her strength, faith, and peace in this most
difficult time. As we have watched our friend go through this battle, God
gave us our own battle. My wife Melanie has now been through three
operations in two months. She is on the mend now and will fully recover.
Watching our friend's faith and peace has ministered greatly to my wife and
me. We have both grown in our faith and our relationship with God. I've
found that it\'s not on the hilltops, when everything is going well, that
you grow. It\'s in the valleys, when times are tough and things are
uncertain, that we must truly walk by faith and not by sight.

As I close this letter, I want to challenge you as God has challenged me
this year. I want to challenge you to genuinely live out this scripture

Proverbs 3:5-8 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your
own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make
direct your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun
evil. 8 This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

As I have prayed for our friend Lisa and her family, for my wife Melanie,
and for our children, I have learned to keep one thought always in mind,
"thy will be done". I have come to understand that I only see things
through a microscope, but God sees the big picture. I understand that
regardless of my desires or wishes, God sees the big picture and there is
no better place to be than in His perfect will. God bless you all and until
next time I am always and forever
